Bringing Floricity to the Classroom

Tiny Seeds, Tiny Bouquets, Big Smiles

At Floricity, we believe flowers have a special way of bringing people together. Sometimes those moments happen at a kitchen table, sometimes at a celebration… and sometimes in a 4K classroom. Recently, we had the joy of visiting a local classroom to share a simple lesson about flowers, growth, and kindness.

A Story About a Tiny Seed

We began the morning with a story time reading of The Tiny Seed by Eric Carle. The book follows a small seed on its journey through the seasons until it finally grows into a beautiful flower. For the students, it was a chance to learn about how plants grow and how something small can turn into something beautiful.

Becoming Little Florists

After the story, it was time for the hands-on part. Each student created their own mini bouquet using fresh stems of solidago, ruscus, mini carnations, and alstroemeria. With a little help, they gathered their flowers, slipped them into sleeves, and tied ribbons to finish their bouquets. The classroom quickly filled with excitement as students compared colors, counted stems, and carefully held their flowers together. For many of them, it was their very first time arranging a bouquet.

Sharing the Joy of Flowers

One of the most special parts of the activity was watching students proudly hold their finished bouquets, excited to bring them home and share them with someone they love. Moments like these remind us why we love what we do. Flowers have the ability to create connection, spark curiosity, and bring a little extra joy into everyday spaces.

Whether it’s a bouquet delivered to someone’s door or a handful of stems in a classroom, flowers have a way of making people smile.

Sometimes all it takes is a tiny seed… and a few tiny bouquets.
