This September, Floricity is honored to return as a sponsor of the Badger Challenge: Wisconsin’s premier walk, run, and bike event that funds life-saving cancer research at the UW Carbone Cancer Center.
We’re so honored and excited to show up with purpose! With pedals spinning, sneakers laced, and flowers in hand, our team will be out in full force the weekend of September 20–21, running, riding, volunteering, and cheering on a mission that’s deeply personal to our entire Floricity family.
Why We’re In This:
Like so many in the Badger Challenge community, we’ve felt the impact of cancer up close. Some of us have watched loved ones fight and win. Others have grieved profound losses. The journey through grief isn’t linear—but at events like this, we find a renewed sense of something powerful: hope.
Hope for earlier detection.
Hope for new treatments.
Hope that together, we can change the future of cancer care.
The Badger Challenge gives us all a way to transform those emotions into momentum. Every mile matters. Every dollar raised accelerates research. Every flower handed out at the finish line is a small symbol of strength, celebration, and solidarity.
What the Challenge Supports:
Since 2016, the Badger Challenge has raised millions of dollars to fund groundbreaking research and innovative cancer treatment programs at UW. What makes this event truly special:
- 100% of participant-raised funds stay local, supporting researchers, students, and clinicians at the UW Carbone Cancer Center.
- Funding is distributed quickly and awarded the following January so discoveries can move forward without delay.
- Donations support early-stage research, often before it’s eligible for major grants, helping to launch new ideas and breakthroughs.
What’s Happening This Year:
The 2025 event weekend includes…
- Cycling routes: 5K, 25K, 50K, 100K, and 100-mile courses
- Running/Walking: Half marathon, 5K run, and 5K walk
- Global participation: Join from anywhere in the world during the virtual window (Sept 21–Oct 6)
This year, the event takes place at the UW Health Eastpark Medical Center in Madison which is an incredible hub for innovation, healing, and hope!
How Floricity Is Supporting:
As a Wisconsin-grown flower company, our roots are in community. We’ll be there at the finish line with vibrant bouquets to celebrate each participant's journey—whether they’re running for a loved one, honoring a survivor, or simply showing up to make a difference. We’re also rallying support through donations and fundraising, so far we have participated in two "match weeks" where we are matching every donation that someone donates to the cure.
